The Rebuild Highland Park Fund, created to fund the City of Kokomo’s effort to recover and rebuild from the August 24 tornadoes, continues to grow with donations from corporations and individuals.

The latest donation came from the American Legion Post Six baseball team, which donated $2,000 towards the fund. The donation puts non-corporate donations over $3,500. Donations have come from as far away as Albion, Indiana.

Kokomo’s unemployment rate fell to 4.1 percent in September – its lowest rate since the year 2000. The rate is also lower than the state level (4.2) and the federal level (4.8), according to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. Read More

The Depot Community Room at the Historic Train Depot is available for public use and may be rented through the Kokomo Parks Department. The Depot Community Room, located on the second floor, joins A. Michael’s, Tin Man Brewing Company and Depot Park as the final tenant in the historic structure. Read More
