Creature Features

The Kirkendall Nature Center in Jackson Morrow Park
hosts several Creature Features during the summer.
These events are informative and interactive and feature live 'creatures'.
They are FREE and open to the general public.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.

TAKE FLIGHT! BIRDS OF PREY SHOW
Saturday - May 29, 2021
11am-12pm & 1-2pm
Mark Booth from Take Flight! Wildlife Education will be bringing several different birds of prey for an interactive program.  A hawk, an owl, and falcons will be present to help teach about the raptor family and how these birds of prey have made a difference in society throughout history.  Demonstratoins, lessons, and stories will be used to help the audience understand the importance of nature, wildlife and ecology.

SCHEUMAN MOBILE FARM & PETTING ZOO
Saturday - June 26, 2021
11am-2pm
The mobile farm & peting zoo brings sheep, goats, a baby cow, a mini horse, a chicken, a bunny rabbit, an aplaca and a camel for you to get face-to-face and see their personalities.

SQUISHY & FRIENDS INTERACTIVE REPTILE SHOW
Saturday - August 14, 2021
11am-12pm & 1-2pm
Reptile Rex with Squishy & Friends will bring many different snakes and reptiles and will offer an interactive learning "close encounter".   The snakes and reptiles are breeds from Africa, Asia, Australia and South and North America.

INDIANA WILD

Indiana Wild is an interactive learning program and they will have an alligator, a giant African bullfrog, Tom turkey, a scorpion, a pancake tortoise, a rex rabbit, a skunk, a groundhog, and a porcupine.
