The upcoming Hoosierdance International Film Festival is a three-day event showcasing 23 films at various locations in downtown Kokomo.
June 25 – 27, the first annual film festival will present an entertaining mix of films and documentaries ranging from two minutes to 110 minutes in length.
In addition, the festival will feature panel discussions on various filmmaking topics which will be free to the public.
“We’ve organized a strong lineup of feature films, short documentaries and a collection of short films by high school directors,” said festival organizer Matt Myers. “We received over 50 film submissions from sixteen different countries and selected 23 for Hoosierdance.”
The international film festival is a first for Kokomo and has been welcomed by the local business community with sponsorships and offers to host festival events.
“We pulled this off because local business owners supported us and offered us intimate and friendly settings for the festival, continued Myers. “We’re showing films in restaurants, bars, a comedy club and inside the United Way Building.”
Individual tickets are on sale at each screening location. A festival pass provides access to all of the films, and VIP packages are available at Jitterbug & Co., 119 W. Sycamore St.
