Kokomo Municipal Stadium will host its first-ever high school event when the Kokomo and Northwestern High School, girls and boys varsity teams compete in a soccer doubleheader.
The match between the Howard County rivals is set for Thursday, August 27. The Kokomo Wildkats vs. Northwestern Tigers girls’ varsity match will start at 5:30 p.m. with the boys varsity matchup immediately following.
“Kokomo Municipal Stadium was designed as a multi-use facility to showcase athletics at every level,” said Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight. “The match between Kokomo and Northwestern marks the beginning of Kokomo Municipal Stadium’s tradition for providing an experience that high school fans, parents, coaches and most importantly, student-athletes will never forget.”
Kokomo Municipal Stadium is home of the collegiate Prospect League, Kokomo Jackrabbits. The expansion club finished third in attendance (44,181) in the twelve-team league in its inaugural season. The stadium was voted Best Summer Collegiate Ballpark by Ballpark Digest in 2015.
All tickets are General Admission and will be $5.00 for students and adults.
