A popular Cajun-style restaurant has opened its second Indiana location in downtown Kokomo. Boondocks Wine and Spirits, is a well-known restaurant in Peru that attracts customers from throughout north central Indiana.
The Kokomo location will maintain Boondocks’ signature New Orleans’ inspired atmosphere but with an expanded menu.
“We’ll be preparing a greater variety of fresh seafood, steaks and burgers with our distinctive Cajun flair,” said owner Stephen Foht. “And for lunch we setup a steam table where we are able to serve jambalaya, étouffée, gumbo along with other lunch entrees.”
Boondocks is open seven days a week with live entertainment on most days. The new restaurant has over 200 seats and a bar featuring Indiana craft beers.
“The Kokomo Boondocks can hold five times as many people as our original restaurant, which is just too small for our popularity,” continued Foht. “The new space incorporates the character and personality of our first location as we aim to accommodate more customers looking for an authentic Cajun dining experience.”
Boondocks is the latest eatery to join downtown Kokomo’s growing dining and entertainment scene.
Boondocks Food and Spirits is located at 115 W. Sycamore St.
