Kokomo’s jobless rate dropped to its lowest level since November 2000, as the city’s unemployment rate decreased another half percent to 4.1%.
“The job numbers just keep getting better for those seeking employment” said Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight. “Kokomo’s labor market continues to grow as the city’s unemployment rate declines to a 15-year low. Our efforts to promote job growth through new development and quality of life investments that attract new workers are paying off.”
Kokomo’s unemployment rate is declining at a time when its population is increasing. For the period between 2010 and 2014, Kokomo led Howard and the adjacent counties in population growth with 230 new residents.
