City of Kokomo and Oakbrook Church to drop more than 20,000 Easter Eggs into Kokomo Municipal Stadium

Free Community Easter Egg Hunt For Kids Up to Age 11

Eggs will fall from the sky tomorrow as the City of Kokomo and Oakbrook Church partner to host the inaugural Egg Drop in Kokomo Municipal Stadium.

Skydivers from Air Indiana Skydiving Center will jump into the stadium dropping candy-filled Easter eggs on their way down. Over 20,000 Easter eggs filled with candy will be spread on the field for kids to collect. The free event also features door prizes and concessions.

“We are so excited to partner with Oakbrook to create another community event that leverages the stadium,” said Mayor Greg Goodnight. “These types of partnerships and events are exactly in line with our vision to build our community through enhancing quality of life for our residents.”

Earlier this year, the leadership from Oakbrook Church approached the city with the idea of leveraging the stadium to host this event.

“Our goal with the Egg Drop is  to go outside the walls of our church and create a family-friendly event for anyone in our community,” said Oakbrook Ministries Lead Pastor Mark Malin. “Kokomo Municipal Stadium was the perfect centrally-located facility for the event.  We are grateful for the city’s willingness to partner for the Egg Drop!”

The Egg Drop will take place on Saturday March 19 from 9:30 a.m. to noon.  Admission to the Egg Drop is free to the public.  Gates will open for registration at 9:30 a.m. with the skydivers jumping around 10:45 a.m.  The Easter egg hunt is for children up to age 11.
