Randy McKay, the Deputy Mayor of the City of Kokomo, has announced his retirement. McKay has worked for the City since 2010, as Assistant Director of Human Resources, interim Director of Development, and Director of Operations, which recently transitioned into Kokomo’s official Deputy Mayor. He is the first official Deputy Mayor in the City’s history, and the last person to serve under the title of Director of Operations. McKay will continue to serve as President of the Board of Works. His retirement is effective June 3, 2016.
“Randy McKay has poured his heart and soul into his work on behalf of the citizens of Kokomo,” said Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight. “Randy is a trusted advisor, a skilled manager, and a strong advocate for increasing the quality of life for our residents. More importantly, Randy is a longtime dear friend. I will miss his wise counsel and I wish him and Carolyn the best.”
“I am so proud Mayor Goodnight and his administration,” said McKay. “It has been an honor to work with him on behalf of the citizens of Kokomo. The City has a great deal of talent working in the background. Good, quality, smart people; people who also understand the Mayor’s vision and work tirelessly to make it happen. I will miss the daily interaction with many of them. Residents need to know this and be proud that they have some of the best people thinking about, and working for, their future here in Kokomo.”
