Rebuild Highland Park Fund grows with individual donations

The Rebuild Highland Park Fund, created to fund the City of Kokomo’s effort to recover and rebuild from the August 24 tornadoes, continues to grow with donations from corporations and individuals.

The latest donation came from the American Legion Post Six baseball team, which donated $2,000 towards the fund. The donation puts non-corporate donations over $3,500. Donations have come from as far away as Albion, Indiana.

“We appreciate every donation, big or small,” said Mayor Greg Goodnight. “Each donation gets us a step closer to restoring Highland Park.  It feels good to get donations not just from our residents but from people and groups that are hundreds of miles away.”

Highland Park will be re-forested with 16 different varieties of native, hardwood trees, including Elm, Oak, Sycamore and Black Walnut.  The ADA-compliant playground will be integrated into the current playground.

Donations to the fund are tax-deductible and may be sent to Rebuild Highland Park c/o P.O Box 6601, Kokomo, IN 46904, with checks payable to “Rebuild High Park Fund.”
