The NRP Group, LLC has announced plans to pursue a $10,200,000 housing project for seniors to be built north of downtown Kokomo.
The project developer will submit a proposal to the Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority (IHCDA) for housing tax credits necessary for the project to move forward. The IHCDA will announce the awards next year.
The early plans call for 70, single-story, two-bedroom units to be built on Morgan St. on the city’s north side. The architectural plans are designed for the project to blend into the residential neighborhood.
“This new housing development proposed for Kokomo’s north side complements recent private investments in the area like the opening of Kingston Square apartments and Patriot Porcelain,” said Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight. “We hope the IHCDA will support the NRP Group’s tax credit application as it represents an investment in a neighborhood that until recently had not seen a lot of new developments.”
The Kokomo Plan Commission will soon vote on the real estate developer’s proposal to rezone several acres of undeveloped land on the city’s north side.
