The Kokomo Municipal Airport is a public use airport. It provides safe, efficient, and courteous service to the general aviation community in the Kokomo area. The hours of operation are 7 days a week from 8am-6pm (closed New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas). The FBO (Fixed Base Operator) provides full-service fuel sales of Avgas (100LL) and Jet A-1 during hours of operation. Avgas is available 24 hours a day at the self-service pump. After hours operations for fuel sales and receiving cargo are also available if requested.
Some of the amenities offered include the recently updated Terminal building, which has a sitting area for passengers, pilot’s lounge, public wi-fi, flight planning capabilities, and vending machines. There are approximately 5 acres of ramp area for aircraft parking with some tie-downs available. A courtesy car is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Kokomo Municipal Airport and the FBO are owned and operated by the City of Kokomo. Located 4 miles northeast of Kokomo, the airport has 2 runways. The primary runway (5/23) is 6,001’ x 150’ and the secondary runway (14/32) is 4,002’ x 150’. Both are grooved asphalt. Runway 23 has ILS (Instrument Landing System) capabilities.
In addition to the Terminal building, the airport has a Snow Removal Equipment building, 7 box hangars, and 58 t-hangars with 60 based aircraft here in Kokomo.The maintenance team takes pride in caring for the facilities with a total of 415 acres. This includes daily inspections, airfield lighting maintenance, keeping the grounds groomed in the summer months, and keeping the runways clear during snow events.
