Kokomo's Unemployment drops to lowest rate in 16 years; City's numbers lower than state, federal levels
Kokomo’s unemployment rate fell to 4.1 percent in September – its lowest rate since the year 2000. The rate is also lower than the state level (4.2) and the federal level (4.8), according to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
“This is fantastic news, but it also comes as no surprise to anyone who has been paying attention to our great city” said Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight. “Kokomo is in the midst of a strong and steady resurgence. We continue to focus on quality-of-life, and on building a better community. Our private businesses have responded with a tremendous show of faith, by investing millions of dollars into our community while expanding their Kokomo operations.”
