KPD Youth Police Academy Begins June 18th

The City of Kokomo’s Police Department is now accepting applications for its Youth Police Academy that is being offered for youths in grades 6th, 7th and 8th.  The Youth Police Academy is a one week program designed to teach teens about police work, and in turn, establish positive relationships between the police department and the city’s youth.  Participants will attend a mock police academy where they will learn about various aspects of law enforcement duties through hands-on activities, role-plays, team building exercises, and field trips. The one week course is scheduled to begin Monday, June 18th, through Friday, June22, 2018 and will be held daily from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  There is no cost to attend and lunch will be provided to participants, but class size is limited.
